A trek to remember with breathtaking views in Algonquin Park. Mackey, Ontario
This lovely couple connected on their shared love for nature and invited me to a special place where they feel the most connected. The Barron Canyon trail holds many memories for this couple and I couldn't help but fall in love with the adventure.
Fun fact: During our initial consult call I fell in love with this couple and their vibe and they initally didn't want to do an engagement session! Although it was included in their package, they were going to forfeit it –until the last few minutes when Jordan threw out the idea! Kaitlin & Jordan had played around with the idea of doing engagement photos and he wasn't really inclined to. So you can imagine Kaitlin's surprise when he threw out the idea for me to make my way to their lil town of Petawawa (over 400kms for me!) and do the session on a trail that they frequented. Immediately I was 1000% game and it was a no brainer. One of the joys of being able to be a wedding photographer is the ability to travel far and wide and explore places that hold meaning to my couples. So this suburban gal made it a mini adventure to explore the town of Petawawa and the beauty of Barron Canyon on the outskirts of Algonquin Park. Jordan, who hadn't said much during our approaching 2 hour call, was bursting with excitement and throwing out ideas for our session! Taking the leap of faith to ask for their session to be so far out for me takes a lot and one thing about me, is I love to travel so the answer is usually a yes! From being opposed to an engagement session to being the one to suggest it, Kaitlin and I had to ask, what changed? Surprisingly Jordan shared a simple response: "Talking with you made things easy and I'll admit you started getting me excited for the chance to get photos together before the wedding and I fully trust you". Having couples trust me beacuase of the love and dedication that I pour into my work is no better compliment and here's the magic it resulted in.
